Due to the coronavirus the Food Bank are struggling to purchase food in bulk, as Supermarkets have started to restrict the number of items we buy.
The Foodbank continues to operate during these challenging times. Can you please help us by donating pasta, rice, tinned goods etc.
Many thanks, Mary’s Food Bank.
Lee Fletcher - Acting Chair
Mary's Foodbank was set up in 2014 mainly to support one homeless person.
It has now grown in strength and supports on average 55 People, and is open Friday's from 1.30 to 3.00 pm
Clients are referred to us from various agencies after having a referral form completed and we work closely with CGL, Citizens advice and the relevant agencies in the Sutton in Ashfield area.
We offer a warm welcome to everyone who steps through our doors and the kettle is always on as we not only provide our clients with a food parcel but sandwiches, sausage rolls/pasties, cake, and biscuits.
We would like to offer thanks to Gregg’s, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and the Coop for their continued support as well as our local Churches and schools who are always on hand in offering regular donations both at Harvest Festival and throughout the year.
Specsavers in Idlewells Precinct fundraise throughout the year and help at Christmas with donations of Selection boxes and Chocolate to give out to children.
Our volunteers give up so much of their valuable time and without them, Mary's food bank would not be able to support our local community.
