At St Mary Magdalene we aim to serve all worship styles. Therefore, we have a range of services throughout the week. Below are brief descriptions of our regular weekly services. Times and dates can be found in our Events Calendar.
Morning and Evening Prayer
A said service following the pattern for Common Worship Daily Prayer. Some Monday evenings (see calendar)
9.30 am - Thursday Eucharist
A quiet and reflective service, this Eucharist (Common Worship - Holy Communion - Order 1) is celebrated quite simply, without hymns.
8 am - Eucharist
A quiet and reflective service, this Eucharist (Common Worship - Holy Communion - Order 1) is celebrated quite simply, without hymns, on Sunday morning.
10 am - Worship4All in the Centre (First Sunday of each month)
A new way of Worshipping for the whole family that includes child-friendly songs and hymns. This Cafe-style service is especially designed for young families and is conducted in a relaxed and informal manner.
10 am - Family Eucharist
Every member of this congregation is valued. Children, young people and adults all participate. The service included tradition and contemporary elements and the homily (talk) has a more child-friendly feel.
10:00 am - Matins (Third Sunday of each month)
A traditional sung service of morning prayer, with chants.
10 am - Worship4All Eucharist in the Centre (Third Sunday of each month)
Eucharistic service in the Centre with a child-friendly and accessible talk based on a Gospel reading and worship for appropriate for all ages.
10 am - Eucharist with Anointing (Fifth Sunday of a month)
Anointing with sacred oil, blessed by the Bishop, is offered in the Chapel of Our Lady during the distribution of Holy Communion.
Recitation of the Blessed Rosary. Please come into the Choir Vestry. Some Fridays (see calendar)
