Welcome to the ancient parish church of Sutton in Ashfield.
St. Mary’s is alive with worship and fellowship. We are an inclusive, welcoming community with both ordained and lay ministers, rooted in prayer, worship, and scripture.
We are working hard to be a relevant parish church with various worship styles suitable for people of all ages. The church is open and welcoming to everybody, and we want the people of Sutton to see this church as their church.
Parishioners have been worshipping here for over 800 years, in times of joy, in times of sadness, through times of war and in times of peace. The building provides a quiet place for contemplation and reflection.
Although Church is there for the joyful times in our lives, we’re also there for support during times of hardship, unemployment, bereavement, depression or loneliness. “Friends of St Mary’s” is a team of highly trained and dedicated individuals who seek to support the community with their physical and spiritual needs.
The food bank, which opens every Friday, now supports over 50 families with food parcels every week and we’re looking to extend this valuable community service to provide hot food throughout the school holidays. If you think you might need us, or if you’d like to help us either financially or by giving of your time, then take a look at the ‘Community’ tab for more information.
