Celebrate Christmas with us

As this special time of year, we wish to spread love and joy to all those we meet. Whilst we may not be able to do this in our usual way, we have many events planned so that we can feel the spirit of Christmas and celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ together.

We aim to hold events for all ages and worship styles over the advent season. Some of these will be physically in Church, COVID restrictions pending, others will be held over zoom, and others will be activities you can carry out with your loved ones at home - although we would love to see pictures of what you have been getting up to!

Christmas Craft Competition

Visit our Facebook page for ideas - Children of all ages are welcome to enter our competition. Prizes will be given to three different age categories: under 5's, 5-9's, and 10 plus.

Treasure Hunt

Follow the clues to find all the items on the treasure trail as you enjoy the winter air and walk around our local community. Download the clues and checklist. Email or share on our Facebook page how well you did - don't give away too many clues though! You can also complete this in your own time, however, there will be no prize waiting at the end.

Christingle Service

As we can not fill out the Church as we usually do for our festive Christingle Service, we will be holding it over zoom. Instructions, what you will need and information on how to donate to the Children's Society or to the church can be found here

Christmas Quiz Night

Gather your household together to enter our Christmas themed quiz. Held over zoom, we will go through the questions together to see how much we truly know about Christmas! Anyone who would prefer to enter the quiz without joining us on zoom can request a paper version to complete in their own time and be sent to the Magdalene Centre through the post (or hand-delivered) by Sunday 20th December. Two prizes will be given to the winners of the zoom quiz and those who have completed and returned their paper copies.

Worship4All Nativity and Party

Join our zoom service dressed as a character from the Nativity. We welcome angels, sheep, shepherds, Marys, Josephs, and even twinkling stars as we recreate the Christmas story together. After the service, we will stay to share in a Christmas lunch from the comfort of your own home. We will play games, sing songs and celebrate Christmas together.

Cider and Carols

Let's really get into the Christmas spirit together as we join in a rousing singing of carols and well-known Christmas songs on Christmas Eve! Bring your cider (or your favourite Christmas tiple) as we enjoy each other's company and festive cheer. We will sing along to music whilst on mute and have time to chat and share festive jokes, stories, and talents.
